It has taken a while for me to try to put into words how special Denis was to Gill and I. So many fond memories so many good times. In business and in our social lives we always had a good laugh whatever the pressures.
My most special memory is when Denis was the best man at our wedding in Lindos. The end of my stag do in Lindos ended with with Denis and I sat on a step putting the world to rights had we had done so many times. It was very early morning when he suggested a swim. The sun was coming up when we stepped into the cool water after many drinks. We stripped on the beach not noticing courting couples and early morning fisherman. They gasped as we skinny dipped in the dawn sunlight. We both got strange stares from the locals as we walked back to our Apartment soaking wet and looking very conspicous.
There are so many tales to tell but they would fill the page. Now he cant argue back League is far superior to Union.
Denis you were my best man because that is exactly what you are!. You were a very special friend and you are sorely missed.
In his best man speech Denis mentioned my brother Tom who I lost a few years before our wedding. He said he felt proud to be taking what he thought would have been Toms place. He never got chance to meet Tom but hopefully he will have met him now in the place for all good men.
